From guilt and seriosness to Peace and connection
Society guilts you about being too serious or taking your opinions so seriously.
Being serious can be a meaningful competitive advantage if you can find what to be serious about.
Shakespeare was serious about English, and that turned out well for him.
But like any good thing, too much can be detrimental. If you are serious all the damn time, then It might be time to pause and de-load. Just like a Bodybuilder who de-loads every 6-8 weeks and takes a break from intense training. This gap will recharge you and make you miss the intensity so you can go harder when you return.
During the pause from seriousness, you can seriously work on inner peace.
Peace is a process that only occurs when animosity is met with curiosity. Just because you agree or disagree with an opinion doesn’t make you right. The cure to removing the gap of difference is in this phrase - Tell me more.
This goes for understanding your own inner conflicts and differences with others. Yes, if you look deeply, you will find inner conflicts caused by animosity towards yourself or others. The cure lies in being curious about these inner feelings and knowing how to communicate them well.
To communicate well with yourself and others, calibrate your emotions and focus on connection.
Connection is built by caring, genuinely, sincerely, and seriously.
